My name is Armelle Boutin, I am 21 years old and I was born in the west suburbs of Paris. I grew up in a little city with my parents, my big brother and my little sister. I had a very nice infancy, with a lot of love and few banning. That is why I learned to fix my own limits about how to behave in our society. However, my parents tried to develop an open-minded atmosphere with a lot of cultural activities and worldwide travels.
During my schooling, I thought many times to my professional future. At first, I was interested in cinema, then in tourisms, and then in advertising. Finally, after being graduated in 2005 with a scientific baccalaureate, I integrated the international business school “ESCE” in Paris. During all my studies, I have tried to give a marketing orientation to my professional development, with additional subjects and internships in this field. After 6 months, I wanted to integrate the Franco-German program. I find this attractive bi-national curriculum very interesting for my future because it allows to work with German people, and to spend two years in Germany. This unique opportunity permitted me to strengthen capacities in different areas like German tongue, cultural knowledge and adaptation to another way of work.
Last year I did an internship in Stuttgart, in the marketing department of a big company called Dassault Systèmes. I prepared our participation at a trade fair and developed some internal and external tools of marketing and communication. On the stand, I was responsible for materials, documentation, meals and drinks.
What I like in Marketing and also in life is the social, creative and dynamic sides. Let me explain the importance of these three dimensions in my life:
- The social dimension means for me how to learn people, and consequently myself. I like communication, debate, exchange of ideas, emotions and moments between people. I like to speak with people and learn to know them. I have acquired a certain comfort to express myself thanks to an activity I took part in during 8 years: the theatre.
- My creative dimension includes above all the combination of your mind and your body to make something new. It can be a preparation of events (trade fair, party, trip…), but also and especially manual activities. I like to create things (book, sculpture, box, frame…) with several initial materials. I have the opportunity to develop my dexterity with my favorite music instrument, which I have played for 12 years: the piano.
- The dynamic dimension is maybe the most important to me. It represents the continual moving of the mind and the body. I hate the routine, recurrent and boring things. I like to deal with different things in the same time and have new tasks every day. I like to change places where I live (Paris, Berlin, Stuttgart), where I work (office & outside). I have energy inside me that I need to use up. That is why my favorite cultural activity is the dance. During 10 years, I practiced modern-jazz dance, I danced in a lot of galas. Then for 4 years I have started to try several dances like African dance, dance of society (rock and roll, waltz, tango, cha-cha…) and salsa.
I would like to go on to use my skills. That is why I would like to work later in a marketing department with an inter-cultural team. But first, I would like to specialize myself with a master in corporate communication in France.

Completely fabulous improvement, Armelle! Plus, I’d not seen this particular WP theme before, it’s great fun, and it works with your site and thought and humor beautifully: very tastefully done!
Here are two tips for this page.
First, your “T” and discussion leads me to look for your social, creative, and dynamic sides, but your categories on the right are completely different: very formal aspects of the discipline of marketing. Writing a post under these categories would likely remain oriented to the discipline, but if your categories were “social,” then I’d expect a post that illustrates this side of you — and the same for creative and dynamic. The blog is about you, right, and only secondarily about the profession: you’ll get at the profession, but if I am in this field I already know about the field, and I’d be here wanting to learn about you. So ….. !
Second. We’ve talked about simplifying our websites so visitors can get at what we have to say, and where everything extra is a “cost”. I can’t see why a website with only 3, or even 30 posts, would need a big ugly search button on the top. And if your categories are good, well, you might never need one. Or? Same with the Archives: I’m not here to find out what you think on the day there was an earthquake in Costa Rica: I likely am here to learn about your current post, and maybe, the ones behind it so I can track your progress.
What do you think?
It’s a pleasure seeing this improvement from your last blog, and your writing is just great, thanks!
All the best,
Bruce
